Before hiring an ensemble, you should...

• Determine the date and location of the function
• Determine type of music desired
• Consider purpose of musical entertainment--background, dancing, or chamber
• Consider the age range of the guests
• Determine approximate budget for music

Locating a group--

• Find the type of ensemble chosen in the directory
• Call the leader to determine availability and cost
• Request promotional material and/or a demo tape

Procedures once a group is selected--

• The leader will send a contract to be signed and returned with a deposit
• Determine with the leader exactly when payments are to be made
• Balances are always due on or before the date of the engagement

One week before the engagement--

• Call the leader to confirm the arrangements
• Confirm the balance due to the leader
• Communicate any changes or special requests to the leader
• If the musicians need to set up equipment at a special time, inform the leader

Day of the engagement--

• If the payment balance is due, have correct amount in cash or check
• When you arrive at the function, if a payment is to be made, do so at this time
• Enjoy the LIVE music--LIVE music enhances any event.
